It’s called Uptown in Charlotte

Posted October 28, 2014

The Fall conference for NAPFA planners was held in Charlotte, North Carolina. Bob Ryan and I attended, and enjoyed a great week in the Queen City. First, you need to know, if you are going into the heart of the city you are heading Uptown. We never heard or saw any mention of being Downtown. How do these titles happen anyway?

The city was vibrant, and clean to the point of being immaculate. It is anchored by banks, and the conference hotel was near Wells Fargo’s towering office buildings. We found plenty of open space and the weather was nice, with temps in the mid 70s every day.

The conference featured many great speakers including former three term Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison. There were technical sessions too, particularly in regard to the latest in Long Term Care Insurance, and Disability Insurance. We managed to pick up many hours of continuing education credits to maintain our certifications.

We would go back Uptown in Charlotte anytime!
